Circle of Security

At times all parents feel lost or without a clue about what our child might need from us. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you. The Circle of Security® Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.

Using the COSP™ model developed by the Circle of Security originators, our trained Facilitators work with parents and care-givers to help them:

  • Understand their child’s emotional world by learning to read emotional needs
  • Support their child’s ability to successfully manage emotions
  • Enhance the development of their child's self esteem
  • Honor the innate wisdom of parents and desire for their child to be secure and safe in their world

Parents learn about building secure attachment, understanding children’s emotional needs, enhancing their self-esteem, and identifying and understanding the triggers that create barriers to building secure attachment.

How the CIrcle Helps Parents...

The COS intervention is designed to transfer research knowledge to parents in a user-friendly way. This revolutionary video-based design helps parents learn to observe and interpret children's behavior using the Circle of Security.

The Circle of Security map draws a very clear link between child development, attachment research, emotional co-regulation and learning. The Circle of Security is equally relevant to families raising children of all ages. With the help of a Circle of Security Network therapist, parents will discover new ways to help their children connect, restore, and grow.
